There will be No Kendo training on Thursday 21-2-2013 in respect to the National Day prayers Nation wide. Kendo Members please take note. Kendo training will resume the following week as usual. Thank You.

UBD KENDO CLUB

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Kendo Club is established in the year 2004. It is the first Kendo club that is established in Brunei Darussalam. UBD Kendo Club is considered the root of Brunei Kendo.

UBD Kendo Club is a club under Universiti Brunei Darussalam for UBD Students, and it is a member of Kendo Alliance, Brunei Darussalam (also known as Mitsuhide Kendo Alliance). Eversince it's establishment UBD Kendo Club members have been actively training weekly throughout the year and are involved in many Kendo activities in Brunei Darussalam and also internationally.

Objectives:
The objectives of UBD Kendo Club is to promote the learning of Kendo (The way of the sword), discipline and Japanese culture through it's art in UBD, and to foster friendship among its members and Kendo practitioner both in Brunei and internationally.

The Concept of KENDO

The concept of kendo is to discipline the human character through the application of the principles of the katana.

The purpose of practising kendo is:
-To mold the mind and body,
-To cultivate a vigorous spirit,
And through correct and rigid training,
-To strive for improvement in the art of kendo;
-To hold in esteem human courtesy and honour,
-To associate with others with sincerity,
-And to forever pursue the cultivation of oneself.

Thus will one be able
-To love his/her country and society,
-To contribute to the development of culture,
-And to promote peace and prosperity among all peoples.
